These tool-specific terms apply to the Beside 1099-NEC Preparation Tool at 1099preparation.com (the “Tool”), provided by Interface, Inc. (“Beside,” “we” or “us”). They supplement the Beside Terms of Service. By using the Tool, you agree to these terms. If you use it for a business, you represent that you are authorized to act for that business.

1. A preparation tool, not a filing service

The Tool helps organize documents, extract information, match payments and prepare information for a Form 1099-NEC. The supported workflow generates a completed Form 1099-NEC recipient Copy B from the IRS template, together with the IRS recipient instructions, for an original return covering ordinary U.S. contractor service payments. The Tool does not support corrections, withholding, state returns, cash tips, overtime or other special reporting. It does not provide paper-filing Copy A. A generated form is not proof of filing, confirmation that a return is required, or IRS approval. Current-year forms and fictional examples are marked as drafts or examples.

The Tool does not file returns with the IRS or any state authority, remit taxes, or deliver required recipient copies on your behalf. You must complete these steps separately when required. Beside does not act as your accountant, tax adviser, legal adviser or authorized tax representative by providing the Tool.

2. Every document requires qualified review

Before any output is used to prepare or submit a tax filing, or provided as a tax document to a recipient, you must have each document and its underlying information checked by a qualified accountant, tax professional or another person with the knowledge, experience and any authorization required for the applicable tax matter.

The review must verify the source records, payer and recipient identities and tax IDs, tax status, payment amounts and dates, duplicate or excluded transactions, full-year coverage, correct form and tax year, reporting and withholding requirements, and applicable filing and delivery deadlines. Any errors or omissions must be resolved before use.

This review is a condition of using this Tool. It is not a statement that the law requires every Form 1099 to be reviewed by an accountant. An automatic match, completed field, “reviewed” status or available download does not constitute professional review or IRS approval.

3. You remain responsible for your filing

You are responsible for the accuracy, completeness and lawful use of the documents and information you supply, and for every return or document prepared, submitted or delivered using the Tool’s outputs. You must have authority to upload and use information belonging to other people or businesses.

You remain responsible for determining whether a filing is required, selecting the correct form and tax treatment, verifying all figures and classifications, retaining supporting records, filing on time, delivering recipient copies, making corrections, and meeting any tax, withholding and payment obligations. Using the Tool or obtaining someone else’s review does not transfer your legal or tax responsibilities to Beside.

4. Automated output is not tax or legal advice

The Tool uses automated processing, including artificial intelligence. It may misread documents, omit information, match the wrong payment, duplicate records or apply an unsuitable assumption. Outputs and educational content are provided for preparation assistance and general information only, not individualized accounting, tax or legal advice.

Beside does not guarantee that an output is accurate, complete, current, suitable for your circumstances, compliant with every applicable requirement, or accepted by a tax authority. Do not rely on the Tool alone to make a filing or tax decision.

5. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Tool and its outputs are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose or legal or tax compliance.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Beside is not responsible or liable for the contents or legal or tax consequences of any document you prepare, file with the IRS or another authority, or deliver using the Tool. This includes taxes, penalties, interest, rejected filings, missed deadlines, incorrect reporting, and losses arising from errors, omissions or reliance on an unverified output.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud, willful misconduct or gross negligence where applicable law prohibits such a limitation. These terms do not waive mandatory consumer rights or relieve Beside of obligations imposed on it by applicable law.

6. Keep your own records

The Tool is not a permanent record-storage service. Keep your original documents and download any preparation records you need before leaving the workspace. Data handling is described in the Tool’s “Privacy & your records” notice and the Beside Privacy Policy.

7. Questions

For questions about the Tool or these terms, contact Beside support. Support cannot replace the qualified review required above.
